Here are David’s notes from last night! If you didn’t have a chance to make it, make sure you get the Podcast… this was one of the most practical, helpful messages I’ve ever heard on impacting people’s lives. Thanks, David! (Zack)
PERSONAL EVANGELISM
John 20:21 Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”
Matthew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Mathew 9:35 Then Jesus began traveling through all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every illness. 36 When he saw the crowds, he was deeply moved with compassion for them, because they were troubled and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is vast, but the workers are few. 38 So ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.”
Compassion – A suffering with another; painful sympathy; Compassion is a mixed passion, compounded of love andsorrow.
John 13:34 I am giving you a new commandment to love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. 35 This is how everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
C.S. Lewis wrote – “Think of me as a fellow patient in the same hospital who, having been admitted a little earlier, could give some advice.”
2Corinthians 6:14-17 Be not unequally yoked with unbelievers: for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what portion hath a believer with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement hath a temple of God with idols? For we are a temple of the living God; even as God said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Wherefore Come ye out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, And touch no unclean thing; And I will receive you,
Luke 5:29-32 And Levi made him a great feast in his house: and there was a great multitude of publicans and of others that were sitting at meat with them. 30 And the Pharisees and their scribes murmured against his disciples, saying, why do ye eat and drink with the publicans and sinners? 31 And Jesus answering said unto them, they that are in health have no need of a physician; but they that are sick. 32 I am not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.
SEVEN PRINCIPLES FOR ACTION
I. CONTACT PEOPLE SOCIALLY
II. ESTABLISH A COMMON INTEREST
III. AROUSE SPIRITUAL INTEREST
IV. DON’T GO TOO FAR, TOO FAST
V. DON’T CONDEMN
VI. STICK WITH THE MAIN ISSUE
VII. CONFRONT DIRECTLY
Revelation 3:20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.
John 1:12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—
Romans 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
1John 5:12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

From Zack’s message “Two Things That Will Change My Life.”
The book of Colossians says that Christ has “qualified us to become partakers of the inheritance of the saints.” Our inheritance is every promise of God to the New Testament believer. This attached list isn’t all-encompassing, but it’s a start. Confess these scriptures over your life and use them to encourage other people.
