What is Truth? 4 of 6: Truth Inside

I wish I were a historian, but from what I’ve come across, there’s always been some sort of moral standard among cultures of people. C.S. Lewis said, “Men have differed as to whether you should have one wife or four. But they have always agreed that you must not simply have any woman you liked.”

As a child, did your conscience cry out because someone taught you something was wrong, or did your conscience cry out because there is some sort of moral standard that God has clearly set before men? Either way, your conscience still cried out. If we had parents that cared about us, they taught us rules of right conduct and behavior from a young age.

There is something greater in our hearts than nothing at all. I have found that the nothing that once filled my heart was in fact at the expense of me. When we devalue ourselves in any way and argue, “this is what’s right for me,” it is nothing but a lie that devours true fulfillment from a true creator. God has put eternity into the heart of every man, and there is only one person who can bring true insight to what is truth. As our conscience can burden our hearts from bad decisions, there is only one that is greater than our hearts.

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14
